slope is difference of the y-axis over difference of x-axis.

a. slope=

[tex] \frac{8 - ( - 12)}{17 - 17 } [/tex]

=infinity♾️ =tan 90°

b. slope=

[tex] \frac{ - 2 - 1}{ 6 - ( - 3)} [/tex]

= -3/9 = -1/3
