Expand,

[tex]xa-xb=mx-mc[/tex]

Transfer all "x" terms to one side,

[tex]xa-xb-mx=-mc[/tex]

Factor x out of the LHS.

[tex]x(a-b-m)=-mc[/tex]

Divide both sides by (a-b-m).

[tex]x= -\frac{mc}{a-b-m} [/tex]
